School Gardens

With the government putting a larger emphasis on healthy eating, food understanding, Eco Schools, outdoor learning and sustainability, school gardening meets many upcoming government priorities.

A school garden may seem like a daunting task but many lessons can be linked to the creation and upkeep of a garden across the curriculum, as demonstrated below. The school benefits from nicer grounds and with student involvement providing ownership of an environment, the care and responsibility levels are likely to be greater.
